| St. Louis | MP | In Use - Museum Wood Shop |
| This 1940s photo of Barrett's Station, taken after it's move, was contributed by Ron Goldfeder, Webmaster of the Museum of Transportation, St. Louis. Thanks Ron. The following comments are his. In 1944, the single track between the two Barrett's tunnels was replaced by the present double track that has cuts through the ridges at this location. The station was moved from across the road and placed on the north side of the tracks due to the lay of the land. There was no space to put it on the preferred south side for easier use by inbound commuters. It had been on the south side earlier. And the "in use" is only as a wood shop for the museum, not the railroad. When the last commuter train ran in Dec 1961, the station and the land it sat on was donated to the museum by the MP. |
