| This photo was contributed by James Wilson. Thanks Jim. NOTE: When this was posted, we all thought it was Boles MP Depot in Franklin County. Since then, sources have told us that Boles was not big enough of a town for this depot. James Wilson have provided me with what is known. The following are his comments. All I have to go on is the notation next to the photo in the UMSL St. Louis Mercantile Library's Barriger Collection, from which it came. That photo, a Brownie-quality snapshot, was taken as I recall, from the rear platform of Barriger's train on its way from STL to Pueblo in 1940. It is always possible that it was not correctly identified, or that it was a freight house or something else. |
