| This 1950s photo of the Baden depot of the St. Louis Chain of Rocks Waterworks Railway was contributed by James Wilson. Thanks James. The following comments are his. The trolley carried St. Louis Water Department personnel from the Bissel Point water works, Baden, and Chain of Rocks for half a century (1901-1955), and the public between Baden and Chain of Rocks after 1904. The railway was built to "steam railway" standards, and carried more freight, both electric and steam-powered, than passenger traffic. |
