| These 1925 and 1928 photos of the old Delmar Depot were contributed by James Wilson. Thanks James. The following comments are his. The last photo, looking to the west, shows the old Wabash Delmar depot about the time it was taken down. A new depot was required because the Wabash main was put into a trench to separate it from Delmar and the other streets it used to cross at grade. This work was complete near the end of 1928. The last photograph is in the collections of the National Museum of Transport, in St. Louis County, and was published in the book, "St. Louis and Its Streetcars: The Way It Was", by Andrew D. Young (St. Louis, MO; Archway Publishers, 1996). |
