Pettis MP Exists Residence

This 2005 photo of the Dumpville Depot was contributed by Kenneth Bird.    Thanks Ken. The following comments are his.
Dumpville was located on the Sedalia, Warsaw and Southern Narrow Gauge Railroad eleven miles south of Sedalia in Pettis County. MO. The S.W. & S. was leased by the MoPac in 1891 and was standard gauged in 1902. Dumpville was settled by a George Dump after the civil war. The small settlement had a store, blacksmith and a sawmill. It was a post office form 1884 to 1906 only. It disappeared from the Mo Pac timetables during WW I. Today it is only a place name with the property owned by Mr. Dillion. The west end of his house is the building once used as the depot. That is why it is not found on any current maps.
