| This 1900s photo of the Enon Depot was contributed by a friend of ours and a former resident of Enon, Loyce Robinson. Thanks Loyce. NOTE: We had a chance to visit with Loyce and her Husband recently. We learned new, interesting information about The Enon Depot and town. When asked about the name, She told us the town was named by her Grandmother. She named it Aenon, (later changed to Enon.) The name is from the Bible and means Much Water, or Many Waters. Here's a common Story that Bill Bunch read. The story was that the telegraph lines were put up just as quick as the track was built. The telegraph crew sent a message to Jeff City that they were done working for the day, the Agent at JC replied by asking what station they were at...to which they replied NONE, so the Agent wrote down NONE in reverse. The Stories are your choice. For me, I believe the life long resident of Enon. Loyce Robinson. |
