This 1903 photo of the Fortuna Depot was contributed by Kay Mills. It belonged to her Mother, Minnie Lee Carter.    Thanks Kay.
The following comments are Kay's.
The Boonville -Versailles branch of the Missouri Pacific Railroad was built in 1879. The railroad designated Akinsville, in Morgan County, as the shipping point. But, after Fortuna was established in 1880 and became an important shipping and trading center, the railroad built a station there in 1903. The last run on the branch was April 30, 1936. Alva Brenton was the depot agent.
