| I received the following comments from Mark Davidson; This is the former Santa Fe station. The Amtrak station when photographed (note the signs on the building), is on the Santa Fe main line from Chicago to Kansas City and west to California. The Wabash / N&W line was not used as an Amtrak route. |

| I received the following comments from Ann Bullock. This depot was restored by the Friends for La Plata Preservation in 2001. By the time we were able to start the work the building had deteriorated considerably. The building had not been changed, which made the job easier. The interior is just as it was in 1945 when after a fire it was remodeled to a late Art Deco style. It was a model for other depots to follow as it was innovative in style. |
