There were three Newburg depot buildings. This is the circa 1930s depot that replaced the two-story depot (formerly the Harvey House), that in turn replaced the original depot (you have 1908 and 1920 views of the original depot on your site). You show the second depot (old Harvey House) on the site as 1880s-1956. The building was long gone by 1956, (NOTE: Corrected) although I don't know the date of razing. It was replaced by the cinder block depot as shown in the flood photo.

The 1908 and the 1950s pictures of the depot are all the same building. The building was used for the Harvey House and ran by Fred Harvey. He was an English Chef from Omaha, NE. He died of a heart attack in the late 1800s. After he died they had Harvey food on dining cars that came out at that time. I would assume they moved into the old Harvey House sometime before WW2 because the Harvey House was empty then and they needed the larger depot. They later remodeled it to a flat roof structure. I can't put my finger on it but I would expect the Harvey House Restaurant was turned into a depot early as WW1, but that is speculation. The building belonged to the Frisco anyway. Fred just ran the restaurant part. The reason for the Harvey Houses was to keep the trains on time and have some control over the food. The 1908 picture where you see the Harvey House before it became a depot, you can see the little depot that they used at that time on the right of the picture. The little depot was here when I was a boy, I remember it having a baggage shed on the east side of it, but they used it for something else.
