| This 1950 photo was contributed by Norbert Shacklette. Thanks Norbert. The following comments are his. This picture is from 1950 from the collection of the late Andrew Koval. I'm not sure who took the picture but it may have been Howard Killam of Topeka, KS. North Des Arc replaced Des Arc because of a 1948 line change and is located between Annapolis and Gads Hill on Missouri Highway 49. The village was called VULCAN, MO. on the highway and only recently had its post office closed. I worked the Agents job here for 4 weeks in August 1964. 6 hours per day was spent at Annapolis and 1 hour at North Des Arc. If Train #4 was on time I would usually see it at North Des Arc. |
