| These 2005 photos were contributed by Bob McNeill. Thanks Bob. The following comments are his. There were two Peruque depots, one on the Wabash which was not much more than a flag stop like the Hassard photo, and this one on the "long line" of the Burlington from St. Louis to Hannibal, as opposed to the "Short Line" St. Louis and Hannibal which interchanged with the Wabash at Gilmore just east of Wentzville. The Creek for which both were named has been damned up to create Lake St. Louis but runs east into the Missouri river from out west of Lake St. Louis somewhere. NOTE: I Received the following comments from Kent Pillatsch in March 2010. I took a drive out to find the Peruque depot. It might be gone now as we didn't see it. I thought it used to be visible from highway B. We also drove into the area that I thought was once Peruque but didn't see it. |
