| This 1932 photo of the operator of an interlocking plant in Polo was contributed by Jack Hatchitt. Thanks Jack. The following comments are his. This is my grandfather, Carl Buseck. He was a Station Agent for the Milwaukee RR in Polo, Ludlow, Chillicothe, Laredo, Osgood, and Powersville, Missouri. We used to sleep in the Station Agents Quarters with my grandparents above the waiting room. No doors were ever locked. The trains would come rumbling by, at all hours of the night, about 20 feet from our room. I come from a railroad family, My father two brothers, and two cousins held the top seniority spots for the Milwaukee. Road in the Steam Engine and Caboose. |
