Queen City is at Mile Post 219.3 on the Wabash 15th District Main Line between Moberly and Moulton, Iowa; 72.2 miles north of Moberly. The photographer is looking southeasterly. Moulton is to your left, Moberly to your right. This station was torn down within a couple years of when this photo was taken in 1971. While a new structure was being built for the truck gang stationed there, the phone to reach the dispatcher was relocated to the outhouse. Someone from the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch found out, and an item about how the gang got their morning line up from the outhouse ran in the Ripley's "Believe it or Not" section. |
