| Comments by, and photos donated by Charlie Duckworth. This was located on the former right-of-way between Tipton and Boonville. When the RR was abandoned in the 1930's the state placed the road on the former right of way. You can still see the concrete coverts, bridges and fences. The Speed depot is in a farmer's field and was in wonderful shape the last time I looked at it. Speed is on route F south of Boonville. This deport had ornate woodwork over the windows and doors. I believe it dates from when the line was built in the 1880's, it's board and batten and was not built with a bay window. |
