| These 1970s photos of the St. Joseph Francis Street Baggage Station were contributed by Phillip Sifers. Thanks Phillip. The following comments are his. The Francis St. Station was just west of Downtown St. Joseph, In the heyday of the commercial traveler, (1890-1910) this was a very popular station. The salesmen with their order books in hand would walk or catch a jitney to their various business. The Chicago Great Western tied into the CB&Q at the north end of the platform of the station. This appears to be only the remaining baggage building; the actual station being north. The building was demolished in the 1970s shortly after I took the photo's. |
