| This 1911 photo of the Tipton Depot was contributed by William Bunch. Thanks Bill. NOTE: The quality of the original of this photo was better than I usually receive. I was able to get close-ups of the crowd. They fascinated me so I decided to make another page with better quality close-ups of them. See the results at the link below this. | The following comments are by Gloria Knipp. Thank you Gloria. The picture of the Tipton, Missouri (Moniteau County) depot from 1911 was almost certainly taken by P. F. Ross Studio. He was the main photographer in Tipton beginning in the 1870s. His daughter took over the business after his death so the business continued until the 1930s. The printing in white ink on the front of the picture is typical of his other prints/postcards. |

| These 1920s crowd photo and 1930s aerial photo of the Tipton Depot was contributed by Gloria Knipp. Thank you Gloria. the following comments are hers. I am also attaching an aerial view of the Tipton depot from the Vincent Hecht photo collection. His widow shared it with us for publication in the community history book - Tipton: An Illustrated History. I believe it was taken during the 1930s. The only information I have is that it was taken prior to 1946 as a building constructed at that time is not in the picture. The depot roof was lowered some time after this picture was taken. |
