| The following comments are by William Bunch This is a view of Valles Mines looking north. You can see the water tank beyond the station. Past the water tank was a long wooden trestle named Steinecke Trestle for a family living nearby. In later years this trestle was filled in with rock and chat ballast which can still be seen from highway 67. A magnificent high stone culvert spanned the channel over Joachim Creek at the center of this long fill. This stone structure still stands today. |
