St. Louis City Wabash Gone

These 1950 and 1955 photos of the Vandeventer Depot were contributed by James Wilson.    Thanks Jim. The following comments are his.
The WAB Vandeventer depot was built 1898, pulled down in 1956 during construction of the Highway 40 Vandeventer Overpass. It served the Rock Island as well as WAB until RI quit running trains down the WAB line in 1931 or so. The building stood on the northwest corner of the intersection of Vandeventer and the WAB tracks. It was a two-level structure, with the waiting room on the upper level, at track side.
